Pinterest

Words can not describe how much I love Pinterest. Pinterest is a website I get on almost every day and allows me to pin the things that interest me. My favorite thing to pin is food. For some reason when I pin food, I am always hungry. All of those yummy recipes start to call my name. Several times I have tried to make a few different recipes like types of dips that looked easy to make but of course, they didn't look or taste good. I also like to pin clothes and outfits which is probably worse than pinning food because I want to spend money. I pin outfits for the winter and then the summer. I have individual boards for winter boots and summer shoes and heels. It seems like all the things I like are all so expensive, so Pinterest is kind of like my "dream on" website. A few other things I love pinning are things for my future house or apartment, quotes I like, and cute animals. I guess the only bad thing about Pinterest is it being such a big distraction when I am trying to do school work but other than that I love it.

SUMMER

Not a day passes that I do not think about summer. It is so hard to believe that my freshman year of college is almost over, seeing I only have 2 weeks left and only 2 days of exams. This year has been a great experience and I will really miss my friends, but I cannot wait to get home to my friends and family. Even though the town of Gray Court, SC is not very entertaining, I still love living there. I really cannot wait to sleep late on the days I have absolutely nothing to do. I look forward to getting a call from my grandma, who lives right beside me, around 11:30 everyday telling me lunch is ready. Her lunch is so delicious even though it is not healthy at all. I have not gained my freshmen 15 yet but I probably will this summer at home because of her good cooking. Other than sleeping and eating, I will be working, too. Two days out of the week, I will be babysitting the cutest, well mannered little boys ever. Babysitting is the best job to have when you are my age. It is good money and a very easy laid back job. I get to take them to the park, pool, and sometimes we go to a movie on a rainy day so, what more could I ask for. The other two or three days of the week, I will probably being working for United Way of Lauren's County like I did last year. I also look forward to lake and beach trips with my family but before I know it, summer will be over and it will be time to come back to school. Oh the joys of summer!

Spring Break

Last week was such a tease. The weather was so perfect I felt like it was summer already. I was able to sleep late and stay up late. The first few days of spring break were very entertaining mainly because I got to spend time with my crazy best friend, until she had to go back to school on Monday. When I got home on Thursday, my best friend and I went out by the pond and laid out. When Saturday came, my old crew went out for St. Patty's day and had a ball. It was great being able to catch up on old times and laugh about everything. Even though it had been a while since we had all been together, it was perfectly normal. During the week, I babysat and worked for my dad a little, so I could make a little money. On Thursday, I left for Charleston and got to spend some time with my mom's side of the family. Friday, we went out on the beach and I got so roasted, I looked like a lobster. I am very positive that I had sun poisoning because that night I woke up at 2:00 a.m. very sweaty, dizzy and nauseous. I had to lay on the bathroom floor with a cold wash cloth on my head for like 10 minutes until I started freezing. OMG! I was so miserable. I came home Sunday and decided I would extend my Spring Break one more day so, I skipped school on Monday. I skipped because my boyfriend, who goes to Lander, had a golf tournament at his home course and it was the only one I could've gotten to watch. I was really sad when I had to come back to Clemson and get back into my school routine because I was having so much fun. Spring Break 2012 really teased me but when I look on the bright side, there's only like 4 more weeks of school left.

Mama's Girl

One person who has always been very supportive throughout my life is my mother. My mom has always been the person I have gone to for help or when something was wrong. Our relationship has always been somewhat closer than a regular mother daughter relationship. She is more like my best friend who I can tell anything and go shopping with, too. The time I spend with her really means so much to me because now that I am in college, I do not get to see her everyday. Now, we talk on the phone almost everyday for at least 30 minutes and if we do not talk on the phone, we text or email each other constantly throughout the day. She has always motivated me to do and try my best in all the obstacles of life. My mom has helped me become a responsible, self-disciplined young lady. Along with that, she taught me how to use my manners, put on makeup, tie my shoes, make the bed, and do the laundry which have really helped me the last 19 years of my life. Without my moms positive influences on me, I would not be the same person and have the same outlook on life as I do today.

Weekend

Last weekend was the best weekend I have had at home since I have been in college. Not only did I get to spend time with my family, but I also got to catch up with many of my friends from high school. I had an extra long weekend because I skipped school on friday so I could go home on Thursday. On Thursday, I spent 2 hours visiting my sweet grandparents and then later I went out with my friend, Ashlyn. Ashlyn and I went to meet up with some friends at a little restaurant kind of bar place. We were having so much fun until we realized it was almost two thirty in the morning. We got back to her house and Ashlyn, two other friends, and I chatted in the car for almost an hour. The next day, I got a call from my grandma saying she was having lunch. OH MY GOSH! I was so excited. I could smell the pork chops, rice, gravy, macaroni, and cheese cake from a mile away. My family was so happy that I was home to enjoy my grandmas good cooking. My brother, being sarcastic, wanted everyone to sing happy birthday to me even though my grandma just wanted to cook for me since I was home. I guess being the baby of the family isn't so bad after all. Friday night, I pretty much did the same thing as Thursday night and stayed up really late again. Saturday, I just rested and spent time with my mom and her pup. I was so sad when it was Sunday because I really did not want to leave my family and come back to school. At least I have my family and friends to look forward to when spring break comes.

Best Friend

Throughout my life, I have made many friends but it was not until I matured and realized what friends were true to me. When I was 2, I met Erika. Of course, I do not remember meeting her but our parents said we were scared to death of each other. Until we were in middle school, we were inseparable. Erika and I did everything together including shave our legs when we were 6 years old without shaving cream. Yes, we got into a lot of trouble but it is fun to laugh about now. When we went to different schools, we became distant but we still found time to see each other at dance, church, and on the weekends. Now that were older, we don't talk or see each other as much but when we do, it is perfectly normal. I can tell her anything and everything because I know she won't tell secrets or judge me like a fake friend would do. Our personalities may be completely different but I think that is why we get along so well. As people say, opposites attract. I could say so much more about our friendship but it would take me days. I know Erika will always be one of my dearest friends although we don't see each other much. She definitely deserves the Best Friend award in my book and I think it is safe to say she will be my maid of honor one day in my wedding.

Bedtime

I am very weird when it comes to bedtime or at least people say I am. I like to stick to the same routine as much as I can, so I can get a decent amount of sleep at night. First, I take a shower because I HAVE to be clean before I get in my bed. In the process of putting on my pjs, I check my closet and under my bed. I am not sure why I think there are monsters under my bed but I get really scared at night when I hear noises. On nights that I am really, really scared, I turn my night light on in my bathroom. Most of the time, I shut my door and lock it so it will be harder for the boogie man to get to me with a locked door. I've thought about sleeping with one of my roommates but I don't like sleeping with people at all. When I get in bed, I turn on my sound machine and my fan to block out any noise. The most important thing when going to bed is making sure I have my eye mask. Many people don't use an eye mask or know what it is but the last five years of my life, it has been a necessity. My eye mask is the one thing I can not live without. It is amazing when you want to sleep late the next day because it blocks out the sun coming through your window. Anyway, you're probably wondering how old I am and what is wrong with me? The truth is I really can't help I am a scaredy cat but in college, I don't have my daddy here to protect me. So, now you know my weird routines when getting ready for bedtime.

Future

After I graduate from college and grow up, I plan to move to the Charleston area and find a job that is in the field of my major. Having family in Charleston, I have always enjoyed visiting on holidays and during the summer. My favorite part about Charleston is downtown where all of the shops and beautiful houses are located. My parents say that I will have to live with my grandma or cousins but I plan on living in an apartment downtown. Downtown is where I will meet my future husband unless I already have one on the list. I'm looking for tall, light brownish blonde hair, and blue eyes. Between he and I, our babies will be too cute. After we get married, I would love to move to the Mt. Pleasant area or even Isle of Palms in a nice neighborhood. I plan to name my child Poston after my great grandmas maiden name. I also like the name Baker. Who knows if my future plans will go as planned but for now that's what I'm sticking too. Hopefully some of it will work!

Dogs

When I was a child, a day didn't pass without spending time with my dogs. I loved to spend time outdoors as much I could and I still do this day. I wasn't the type of kid who was scared of animals or played video games. Many times I would play with my dogs so much that my brother and sister would lock me out of the house because I smelt so bad. My mom told me once I would nap with the dogs or try to ride them (kind of weird...I know). Once, I told my family that my dog, Simba, told me there were monkeys in the woods. Simba was also one of my boyfriends and I named him after Lion King because it was my favorite movie. Growing up, my family always had big dogs like labs, golden retrievers, and a few mutts. As I grew up, we went through several dogs. Over the years, my family and I came up with some crazy dog names such as Wolfina, Simba, Hunter, Jock, Fred, Nelly, Holly Jo, Remington, Bandit and Lightning. Now that I'm older I still have that same love for dogs but I just don't have one to call mine. My brother has 2 labs, 1 yellow and 1 silver who I absolutely love named Captain and Morgan. Over Christmas, my siblings and I got my mom a tri-colored shih-tzu, Pippa, who's named after Kate Middleton's sister. Being an hour away from home, I don't get to see my babies that much, so one of these days I'm getting a pup to be only mine.

I hate girls

Have you ever experienced living with three 19 year old girls? Well if not, don't do it! Being my first year in college, I have had days where I wanted to absolutely choke someone. My roommates, the three 19 year old girls, are also known as being loud, two-faced, mean, and slut-buckets. All of my roommates are somewhat nice and of course, I have to get along with them sometimes, but that doesn't mean I love them. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining but my nerves only go so far. First, let me start with how loud and giggly they are. I can't count how many times I've had to ask them to be quiet at 2:00 in the morning when I have to wake up for class the next morning. The next thing that irks me is how they all come to me to talk about each other. And last, I get to meet a different "guy friend" every weekend. I guess these girls don't realize that they're just getting a bad reputation for themselves. I've learned a lot from these mean girls but it's definitely made me a stronger person. I guess all I have to say is I hate girls or at least most of them.
